E-Com Women 50 · WORLDEF
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 August 2026
E-Com Women 50 is organized by WORLDEF ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. For any request, contact [email protected].
1. Data controller
WORLDEF is the data controller for personal data processed on ecomwomen50.worldef.com. Contact: [email protected].
2. Data we collect
- Pre-registration / application data you enter: full name, gender, country, role, company, short bio, profile photo and social links (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, YouTube, website).
- Account/login data: your email address and, when you sign in with Google or LinkedIn, the basic profile fields those providers return (name, email, profile picture).
- Voting data: for public voting we record the verified identifier (via LinkedIn / email), the contestant voted for, timestamp, and technical data such as IP address and a browser fingerprint used only to prevent duplicate or fraudulent votes.
- Technical data: IP address, device/browser information and cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
3. Why we process it (legal basis)
- To run the competition — register participants, publish approved profiles and operate public voting (performance of the activity you requested / legitimate interest).
- To verify votes and prevent fraud or manipulation (legitimate interest).
- To contact you about your application and the award ceremony (legitimate interest / your consent).
- To comply with legal obligations where applicable.
4. Sharing & processors
We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site, under data-processing terms:
- Hosting & database: Railway and DigitalOcean Spaces (media storage).
- Authentication: Google and LinkedIn (only when you choose social sign-in).
- Email delivery: our transactional email provider for confirmations and notifications.
- Approved participant profiles (name, photo, role, company, bio, social links) are shown publicly on the site by design, so the community can vote.
5. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses).
6. Retention
We keep application and competition data for as long as needed to run the current edition and for a reasonable period afterwards for records, then delete or anonymize it. You can ask us to delete your data earlier.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR and Türkiye’s KVKK you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability of your personal data, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise a right, email [email protected].
8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures (encrypted transport, access controls, signed sessions) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep it safe.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date.
10. Contact
Questions or requests: [email protected].
